Photos of customised Snow Forest Alice Momoko

Finally, the long awaited Alice Momoko has arrived. Nobody knows of the mystery behind the delay, as this doll was supposedly released in Dec but the mainstream market only got her now. Anyway, her hairstyle was slightly different from the promo photos, as in her bangs are straight instead of curled. So it actually covered part of her face. I decided to give her a reroot of her bangs so that she has long centre parted hair. For the rest of you, a slight trim will do to reveal her pretty blue eyes.
This doll is slightly different as in she is using a Petworks head instead of a Sekiguchi head. The Petworks head is smaller and uses saran type hair fibre. Sekiguchi heads are bigger and they use a stiff kind of hair fibre.

My Iris and her broken finger Part III

Update from my earlier post
Finally I managed to get a closure on this and a replacement hand for Iris is coming to me soon.

A few days after the Singapore post staff visited me for the inspection of Iris, one of the officers called to say that the report was sent to Japan Post Office side and ask me to inform the sender (i.e. Volks) to contact them if they want to seek compensation of the damaged item. The officer also informed me that no report will be provided to me.

I drop an email to Volks explaining the whole thing and also telling them that I was not able to obtain a report from my post office side. Volks instructed me to send the broken hand to them once they received the hand, they would contact me for follow up action. Volks is also very nice to offer to pay for the postage fee incurred.

Within a few days of sending out the hand , I received an email from Volks informing me of the delivery of a replacement hand to me and the tracking number. In addition, they also refunded me the postage through paypal.

I am very happy that this thing finally come to an end and I can have a COMPLETED Iris very very soon.

Shop Limited Edition Neo Blythe "Sunshine Holiday"!

The new shop limited blythe is coming out in Apr 09. There are 3 different outfits for her,
(1) The marketing look: A fresh light sundress with a basket
(2) Outing look: Yellow and white boarder cami and shorts.
(3) Bench look: Bikini !!!!

It was also stated that her skin type is going to be tanned like Neo Blythe "Star Dancer."
So looking forward to see the actual doll. It is rarely that blythe has tanned skin tone.

Bloomy Bloomsbury's Special Charm

I was looking through photos of Bloomy on Flickr and realized that she comes with a special charm. And apparently, only 1000 dolls out of the 3000 released come with this special charm. It is a JM logo. I very much want to link you to the flickr photo, but worry about copyright issue. So for those who want to see the photo, please do a search on flickr for bloomy bloomsbury's special charm.

There is a YJ Auction for this special charm starting at 500yen that is closing in 3 days time. I so tempted to buy if the price stay that way.

It seems that collectors in Japan have got their hands on Bloomy and started selling her on YJ. The one auction that I saw (going to end soon in another 7 hours or so) already reaching a bidding price of 70,685 yen (~S$1,200). I also managed to find one ebay auction just listed, quoting a BIN price of US$1,200. I wonder would anyone buy it at that price.

My Iris and her broken finger part II

Continue from previous post.
The post office staff was here yesterday to do a check on Iris and her broken finger. He took photo of the packagings - the bubble wrap, the external box, Iris's box, and the cushioning in her box. He intitally wanted to take her back to his office, but I stopped him from doing that.

The inspection took about half an hour, mainly spent by the post office staff taking photos of the packaging and her damaged finger. I was informed that Singapore Post Office would do up a damage assessment report and send it together with the photo to the Post office in Japan. The Japan post office needs to endorse the report. After that they would provide me with the damage assessment report. This would take about one week or so.

The actual photo is finally out for them. I think they look nicer than the illustration. A bit regretted that I did not get them. The eye colours are the same, the only different is their hair and skin tone. My favo is the one in blue (Adorable Aubrey).

They look so nice. I regretted not ordering them. Their eye chips colour looks the same.

I received my SD16 Iris after such a long wait. Upon inspection I noticed that she has a broken ring finger. I almost want to cry when I show Iris her broken finger. Poor gal

I sent an email to Volks with picture of Iris and her broken finger asking for the possibility of getting a replacement hand. Volks replied me within one day asking me to get a damage assessment report from my local postal service provided – Singapore Post Office before they can advice me on the next course of action to take.

I was taken aback with Volks’ reply. I contacted other Japanese suppliers before on a number of occasions and their after-sales service never fail to wow me. My friends and I encountered problems with momoko dolls before, for examples – two left shoes, two left hands, and the supplier normally would send us the right shoe or replacement hands to us without much questioning. I also bought a 2000 piece puzzle from Japan during my trip previously and at the completion of the puzzle, there was a missing piece. This particular supplier only sell their products within Japan and I am trying my luck to request for the missing piece from them to be sent to Singapore and to my surprise they sent me the missing piece to my puzzle.

Since Volks required a damage report, I had called Singapore Post Office asking for a damage assessment to be done on Iris. As expected, Singpost told me that their staff would contact me to arrange for an physical inspection on Iris to investiage whether the damage is caused during the transit. However, they are not able to commit when this can be done. The Singapore post helpline office also told me not to unpack Iris until they complete the damage assessment.

It is just an unlucky day for me.

My little Candy

My little candy reached me earlier than expected. She was there waiting for me to play with her when i got home. I tried to take some photos of her in her box using my handphone camera, but the lighting really sucks and the photo turns out to be quite bad.

I would try again tomorrow in the afternoon when I have better lighting condition.

2008 Fans voted Momoko

I deboxed my Kuro (2008 fans voted momoko) from her box today. Kuro mean "black" in Japanese, a name that suits her prefectly because of her black hair.

Just saw a update on momokodoll.com on the new momoko doll that is coming out in Mar 09. I am in love with her outfit and purple stock and that pair of shoes. Though my friend commented that her face is too big, I quite like her face and overall look.

Update to my blog

I decided to use my blog as a channel to update friends and buyers on any dolls pre-order or dolls for sale that I have. I find it is a better and easier way to reach my friends and potential buyers rather than sending out emails randomly to both interested and non-interested buyers.

I have recently announced the pre-order for CWC Limited Edition Neo Blythe “Bloomy Bloomsbury” and the arrival of Doronjo x blythe.

I am surprise at the selling price of Doronjo x blythe current on ebay now. It is selling at 650 usd (S$975) which is 40% more than my selling price. This current price is making Doronjo xblythe out of reach for some of the blythe collectors. For those of you who sent me an email asking for Doronjo x blythe, I am so sorry that I no longer have stock of her with me. I am trying my best to source for her and informed you if I managed to get stock of her.

When I first saw the photo of her taken at the Thailand Blythe function published by someone from Flickr, I do not quite like this new collaboration blythe. Firstly, I do not like short hair doll and her outfit is too over the top in my view. But the latest release final photo changes my view on her. I do like her face.
But I still think her outfit is still too over the top for me and her retail price is higher than the other CWC limited blythes like Doronjo and Princess milk. The green hat and the green coat, i am not just so into the colour green. I would just give her a miss.
But anyone interested to get her, can drop me an email.

Long time no see ... miss me?

Sorry, have not been updating this blog for a while due to my busy work schedule. By the way, my trip to Japan-Tokyo is confirmed and I would be going there from 2 May to 8 May 09. I am happy that my friend booked our airline tickets from SIA and we are flying A380!!!!. Yes it is also at a super low price of $700 per person including fuel surcharge and tax. My friend also helps to book hotel, and managed to get the last double room available. Their twin rooms are fully booked by the time the hotel allows us to book (i.e. 3 mths in advance) as their members can book like 6mths in advance.

My trip to Tokyo in Aug 08 costs me S$900+ for SIA airline ticket and I took Boeing 777 (to Japan) and Boeing 747 (back to Singapore) and my legs were swollen when I reached Singapore as the seat is too small and left me with very little leg space. This time round I am happy that I got a cheap and better flight to Tokyo and back.

Next to update on my dolls purchases recently. Yes, after getting Princess milk (blythe) and have successfully managed to get Doronjo x blythe (Blythe) from a Japan source. I am happy at my luck in getting those CWC Limited Blythes at a lower price compared to those selling on ebay. Can you believe it, Doronjo x blythe is selling at USD510 on ebay, what a crazy price!!! I hope nothing goes wrong with the transaction with the Japan source, i am so afraid that the seller may back out of the deal as Yahoo Japan closed auction for Doronjo already went sky high.

As for my dear momokos, I am still patiently waiting for them. Poor Alice is delayed again, I hope she is not lost in the winter-wonder-land. As for the cat gals, they should reach by Taiwan dealer by end of the month and then for him to ship to me. I'm so happy that they have petwork heads. As for Petwork new release - 09ss, I am trying to find ways to buy direct from Azone, if cannot, I would need to pay extra to get her from other agents.
So much for the update.

Doronju Blythe

The final photo of Doronju Blythe is finally out on blythedoll.com. She is not the normally cute pie you expecting. Oh, she is damn sexy and hot, especially in the photo on the left below. Personally I do not really like her mask, the pointed "ears" a bit too big. But my bf likes the mask.

My view on BJD

I joined Volks' "Dolls Party 20 After Event " Lottery on wed this week to try my luck to see whether I can win anything and Iwon all three dolls that I "bid" for - Johanna, Iris and Tohya. Maybe this year is my lucky year. I tried to purchase items from Volks online twice in the past, but did not manage to get anything. The items I try to buy went out of stock when I was trying to load the page.

There are a lot of BJD lovers around the world and do not be surprise that most of them are willing to spend few thousands to buy a new doll. Personally I like to see photos of BJDs, especially those from Japan. The delicate workmanship of the Japanese makes those BJDs look like a piece of art, and they look like they come out from those Japanese comic books. During my trip to Japan last Aug, I visit two volks outlets, and the window displays were truely amazing. Too bad, we were not allow to take photos when in the outlets.

But for me, I would not want to own them. Firstly, the price tag is way over my comfort zone as I am just a lowly paid salary worker. Secondly, I also do not have space for them at home.

Rourou/Lotus

Petwork had a collaboration with Rourou and came up with one of the most expensive momoko doll (based on yahoo japan transacted price). Recently Petwork has another collaboration with Rourou and come up with as "ODECO&NIKKI go to ROUROU" dolls and I heard that it was rather popular among collectors.

This interests me to find out more about this fashion brand - RouRou. The brand "ROUROU" was established by a Japanese designer - Maki Hayazono in 2000 and I also notice that, other than having stores in Japan itself, they have a store in Shanghai.
I also take some time to browse through their catalog and collection. Their clothes remind me of Old China clothing, but with a modern twist added to it. I must say their collection is very nice. But the retail price of their collection is more of the high side and most of them are out of stock. One of the T-shirt (pic below) which I like cost 24,000 yen (i.e. S$384 based on exchange rate of 0.016)

Next time I visit Japan again, I may want to consider adding "visit rourou store" to my itinerary.

Neo Blythe "Friendly Freckles"
Blythe is coming up with a new Neo Blythe calls the "Friendly Freckles". When I first saw the word "Freckles", it remains me momoko doll released by Petwork some years back - Rou Rou. Currently only the illustration is out on the offical website, I hope actual doll would be nice.

Petite Blythe "Suzume no Uta"
A cute petite blythe in traditional Japanese Kimono. Suzume no Uta meant "Song of sparrow". Her outfit is in sweet colours of blue and pink, unlike a traditional Kimono which is normally in darker colour.

Jane Marple Blythe
Jane Marple Blythe Petite Blythe "Bloomy Bloomsbury" Final Design is out on blythedoll.com. I have no idea who or what is Jane Marple. But according to blythedoll.com, Jane Marple is a famouse fashion brand. After visiting their website at http://www.janemarple-stmm.co.jp/, I must say their designs are very different from those mass market designs and are rather refreshing.

I also try to look up for more information on wikipedia.org and managed to find out something else about the name "Jane Marple". Jane Marple, usually known as Miss Marple, is a fictional character appearing in twelve of Agatha Christie's crime novels. Miss Marple is an elderly spinster who acts as an amateur detective, and lives in the village of St. Mary Mead. The website is finally up and I have place an order for my princess milk...
My friend keyed his order at 2 am in the morning while i only key mine at 6am which is like 4 hours later. Just pray i can get her.

I'm so mad

I have been trying to access junie moon website to order the new release of the Princess Milk BisQuit de Q-pot. I have been accessing their website for the past 3 hours and still not able to order the doll.. I managed to get until the checkout page and key in my shipping address for a number of time and was throw out by the system after clicking the checkout button.

The dealer who i getting the dolls told me that she may up the price in view of the popularity of the dolls. Let keep my finger cross that it would not be too expensive.

A lot of new dolls are resulting in Dec 08 and Jan 09 and it is burning a hole in my pocket notwithstanding that bonus is coming. A preview of the dolls in my want list
Princess Milk Blythe - She is a darling and I want her!!! My friends had already pre-ordered one for me from the dealer. But not too sure about the price tag as the doll is not out yet and it also depends on the exchange rate.

Another blythe - It is the only the illustration, the actual doll not out yet.

Momoko dolls - Wakeup dolls - WU 003 and 004 - Must have to complement my wakeup doll WU 001 and 002. Already orderd. waiting for them to come to me.

Next is Lazy 17, a more boyish looking momoko following the earlier release of I wanna to be a boy.

Winter collection consisting of Miss Weekday normal version and bitter version and Alice in Winterland.

The black jacket one is the special version - bitter version. The white jacket one is the normal version. I like outfits but the momoko dolls are rather normal looking. So I am going to give it a miss.

Alice is one of the more expensive momoko doll compares to Miss Weekday, Lazy 17. Heard that Alice dress is made of silk and she has a petwork head. But at the price tag of $210+ sgd, I going to give it a miss too. I am out of budget...
